The Central Ohio Saddle Club Association, Inc., an all-breed organization, has been in existence since 1945. The primary purpose of COSCA has been to promote the sport of horse showing. A non-profit organization, COSCA coordinates and promotes horse shows, encourages high standards of breeding and quality in show horses, and fosters the study of and improvement in horsemanship on the part of young riders.

The COSCA Youth Division's purpose is to promote sportsmanship, discipline, and responsibility and allow young people to make the transition to adult classes while developing greater awareness of the variety of breeds represented by COSCA.

COSCA is a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status, classified by the IRS as a charitable organization. Any gift you give to COSCA is tax-deductible!

At the Fall Championship Horse Show, high point awards are given based on horse and rider's success in approved shows throughout the season.

After entrants register with the Merit Point Secretary, Certificates of Merit are awarded to horses when they receive 50 points in a given class. When a horse has received three Certificates of Merit in three different classes, the horse receives a Certificate of Championship. A Certificate of Supreme Merit is awarded to horses and riders who earn an additional 150 points in a class in which they have received a Certificate of Merit.

COSCA's uniform set of rules governs all shows approved by the club. Every member has a voice as to which rules are changed and/or adopted at the annual rules meeting. As a result, classes are available for all divisions and types of horses and ponies. Any breed may show in open classes, but COSCA offers specific classes and high point awards for the following breeds:

• Paint & Pinto

• Paso Fino

• Quarter Horse
